What spice or spices could be used in place of Cardamom?
This is for a zucchini cupcake recipe. Other spices include cinnamon and ground clove. Could I use something like allspice and if so, would I use equal amounts?

use ketchup
cardamom tastes and smells way different than allspice. Maybe just skip it.
It’s such an unusual spice; I would not substitute. I don’t know of any nutmeg/mace sort of equivalency for cardamom.
try ginger.
I love nutmeg, so I would use it or ginger.
Afraid not – Cardamom is a flavour unto itself. If you haven’t got any, just leave it out completely. Try to get some for next time, though. If you don’t want to buy a whole jar at the grocery store, look for it in a bulk store where you can buy just a little bit.
