parsley,thyme.
Basil grows rather fast
Rosemary is an incredibly tough plant and very easy to grow.
For speed, watercress is one of the fastest herbs to grow; you can eat it within about 10-14 days of germination.
Basil or Cilantro
Mint, easy and fast to grow doesnt require direct sunlight, likes to grow in pots, smells great and clean
in a classroom:
basil is your best bet
if you are growing them from seed, the seeds sprout in just a few days….
mint is easy to grow but your class may not have enough light to get good germination.
rosemary is notoriously picky about water and light indoors.
best answer should go to first one with basil as the answer.
thyme, sage, cilantro and parsley have a tendency to get spindly when indoors.
Chives can be fun if you buy a plant and grow it on.
many of the herbs need bright light so if you have a south or east window that will help.(northern hemisphere)
