When should I remove plastic wrap from my germinating herb planter?
I planted Basil, Chives, Cilantro, Dill, Oregano, Tarragon and Thyme. I planted them in REALLY wet soil in a little herb planter box thing. Then I covered the box with plastic wrap and left them on the back porch. The moisture beaded up on the wrap like it should.
Do I remove the plastic only after all of them have started sprouting? Or when the first one sprouts.

If it’s warm and you set it in direct sunlight there is a danger of overheating and killing your plants.
If it’s cold I would leave the plastic on, but if it’s not I personally would take it off.
All these plants need warmth if they are to germinate and grow, also the soil sounds as if you made it too wet. If you leave the box outside covered in plastic, then the seeds may well go mouldy and they won’t germinate. If you’re in the UK, you will need to give them some warmth, ideally in a propagator indoors, or at least on a sunny windowsill, and remove the plastic to let them drain and dry out a bit. At this time of year they need as much light as possible, so taking off the plastic will also help with this. If they don’t work, try again with fresh seed in April, – or just buy little pots of the herbs you need, if you are not going to grow more then one or two of each.
You take the plastic off as soon as you see the first sprout coming through..Also do not keep the soil really wet but only damp..but do not let dry out..You will get what is called “dampening off” disease if you keep them covered in plastic, as well as keeping the soil really wet…heres pictures of my source..I grow veggies 12 months out of the year…
