do you have a middle eastern grocery outlet near you?
maybe GNC centers.. ive seen 1 pound bags of sesame seeds being sold there..
or try a natural food store or wholeistic food store…
if you luck out and find a middle eastern grocery outlet, you can buy your zaatar there already mixed.. its a blend of crushed thyme leaves, toasted sesame seeds, crushed sumac berries, and salt… .. mmm! takes wonderful with a few spoons of this in a small bowl of olive oil.. stirred in well, and then mixed with yogurt cheese (yogurt thats been drained somewhat to make it thicker)… we eat this on cooked bread sheets. like pizza here in the middle east…its so nice or breakfast…
How about a pet shop? I think they use them as food for budgies.
If you’re referring to a recipe for Tahini, her’s how you make it:
1/2 cup tahini paste
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
juice from one large lemon, freshly squeezed
salt and pepper to taste
garnis with chopped chives (optional)
Directions:
Mix the tahini with the water until you have a consistant paste.
Then add the garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. Mix again. You can adjust seasoning to your own taste. Then add the salt and pepper, mix once more, and you’re done.
But now, what do you do with it (apart from dunking some pitta bread in it?)
If you like, you can use it a topping for chicken shwarma. Try this one, f’rinstance:
If you have a shop that sells Indian groceries, they might have it. It will sure be cheaper there than the supermarket.
Penzey’s Spices sells in bulk, and are much cheaper than the grocery store.

You will find what you like!
Good luck!
