Why haven’t the producers of Sesame Street denied the fact that Bert and Ernie are gay?
By refusing to deny the fact that they are gay, this sends a dangerous message to our children….the fact remains that millions of children watch Sesame Street and are becoming brainwashed by the pro-gay message contained in the show. The producers should be ASHAMED of themselves.

“becoming brainwhased by the pro-gay message”???
I grew up watching SS and contribute the show to the reason I was always reading ahead of my class in elementary school.
Sorry, I don’t see any message except learning and fun and how to get along with others. Maybe, you should watch some more. If you don’t like the show, don’t let your kids watch.
youre a jerk. you should be ashamed of yourself for bashing a SIMPLE childrens show like sesame street. kids wouldnt care even if they were.
What? Maybe they are gay….who cares? If you don’t like it then don’t let your child watch the show.
You again, I have to ask myself if you are secretly gay, since you seem to be so concerned about it! By the way, puppets aren’t sexual creatures, and neither are children perv.
I guess they took a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” approach with Bert and Ernie.
But two grown men, sharing an apartment (and a bedroom) in the Village? And you just know Bert is the dominant one in that relationship. It’s so obvious.
But seriously, why you find the idea of that threatening or “dangerous” is beyond me. Sesame Street (and Bert and Ernie) has entertained children for almost 40 years–do you honestly think children are going to “turn gay” because they watch it? Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way.
Gay people are a part of every walk of society. Why not teach your children to embrace and accept people who are different, instead of teaching them intolerance and loathing?
Why would children care about the sexuality of a puppet?? Why should you care since they are puppets that do not make any inferences to sexuality?? Children and the rest of us love SS, and it is a big plus since it is educational. However, I think YOU need to stop watching SS since it gets you so worked up.
Naaaaaah. They’ve just got the greatest bromance in history going on.
And you’re a big, ugly troll.
What????? These are puppets……….PUPPETS not people. Even my daughter who is 4 years old knows that puppets and stuffed animals are different from humans and just stuffed with fluff. She knows that there’s no sexuality involved with Sesame Street! I grew up being “brainwashed” by Sesame Street and the thought that they are supposed to be gay never even crossed my mind. I thought of them as brothers. Brothers live together like roomates and so do some straight as an arrow guys in real life. Gosh – does this mean I’m a lesbian – after all – I shared a room with 2 other girls in college! Maybe it’s my own horrendous example that will lead people astray. I really think that when they put Sesame Street out there – that was not their intention – please cite your sources. When Sesame Street starts talking about the gay lifestyle, removing any reference to marriage and talking about all kinds of “families” and how it’s no different from anyone else’s lifestyle – like they are trying to do with the textbooks and curriculum in my state and giving Ernie and Bert children of their own – then I will agree with you. Yeah – forget Sesame Street – the battle is for our public schools and that is a much greater concern. Don’t get me wrong – I love homosexuals just the same – but I’m teaching my children a worldview that is NOT what the militant homosexuals are trying to get into schools with their Rainbow curriculum and other methods. Yes – accept and love the people. Treat their lifestyle like it’s no different, has no negative consequences and is just another wonderful alternate way they can choose to live too? No. Parents have the exclusive rights to worldview training when it comes to their own children. Let’s not leave that to militant homosexuals. If eveyone was one – it would only take one generation for the entire human race to go extinct. There is something special and God ordained about the male-female union – no baby has ever been conceived without the fusion of male and female cell counterparts. Even when you do a clone – the original cells came from that union. So, I’m not a hater and not predjudiced. I just really believe that there are huge differences between the lifestyles and I too have a right to believe my lifestyle is the best option. I have the right to train my children to love people and not necessarily agree with everything that they do and how they choose to live.
They haven’t said that they are gay! DAMN, you’re ignorant. It is not sending kids a dangerous message. They aren’t being brainwashed and it isn’t a pro-gay show! YOU should be ashamed of yourself.
Ask ANY 3 year old if Bert and Ernie are gay and they will ask you “What’s gay?” They don’t know what it is.
The fact that Bert and Ernie are gay? Huh? What program are you watching?
All of the characters except the people charcters on Sesame Street are represented as children. Bert and Ernie just live in the same place, that does not make them gay. THey are children.
Sesame Street probably do not own up to or deny this silly idea, because it is irrelevent to them. People are going to see what they would like to see. If you feel that they are gay, okay, that is fine, but that does not make it true.
Sesame Street is a wonderful program for young and old. There is not dangerous messages being delivered by Sesame Street.
Ashamed? Are you serious? Sesame Street has been around forever and helped children learn, helped them not be afraid of monsters, helped to help others, helped them in so many ways. Ashamed I think not.
If you as a parent decide that you do not want your child to watch Sesame Street, that is acceptable. However to state that Sesame Street is brainwashing your child, I wonder where exactly you are at when Sesame Street is on? Is it not the parent’s choice to watch or not watch certain programs.
If you feel so strongly about the ideas that you perceive are being presented on Sesame Street, do not watch it.
But do not think that simply because you feel as though your thoughts are truth, that they really are.
People like you are the ones that are ruining great shows. You are taking this great great thing intertwining it with your issues, and saying it is bad. There is no brainwashing. There is no pro-gay message, Bert and Ernie are children in this program.
You should be ashamed of yourself for sabotaging a wonderful program.
OMGGGG…ive heard it all now…are you serious? you are a troll!!!!!
So much anger over homosexuality!
I think your in denial, so why don’t you just come out of the closet and join the rest of the world.
