Why is my purple basil in my areo garden not purple?
I planted my aero garden on December 30, 2007. I have the gourmet herb kit with italian basil and purple basil. Both my basil plants are healthy and green. From the pictures in the book, it shows that the purple basil is purple after 4 weeks. It has been way longer than that.

The only information I found to explain this is that purple basil is a hybrid. As such it may have purple leaves and green ones on the same plant OR it might revert back to the green color of the parent plant.
They recommended trimming some of the leaves and seeing if the new ones don’t grow back in purple.
I planted mine on Christmas day. The basil is indeed purple, but it is not growing as fast as some of the other plants. Maybe you need to make sure it is getting enough light and is not shaded by the others.
