Will peppermint plants actually keep away mice?
I planted 7 peppermint plants by the back garden in an
attempt to keep away mice. Will it work, or was it an
exercise in futility?

I think so cuz they dont like smell
The mice will avoid the plants, but will still seek food, water, and warmth. The plants will, most likely, help in your efforts to rid your home of mice. However, they won’t kill the mice or prevent them from breeding.
No, I tried that on a mouse hole and the mouse still went through it. A cat might help.
Peppermint and Spearmint grow wild in my area. We are continually pulling it out of the flower beds, garden, everywhere. We have mice that try to get into the house during the winter. Mint has no affect on mice.
Get a cat. Mice in stored grain is believed to be the reason cats started hanging around people about 10,000 yrs. ago. They still have that mouse relationship with us.
